Schedule of Overcoming Overeating Workshops

 

 

NATIONAL CENTER FOR OVERCOMING OVEREATING

New York City Workshops:

These workshops are designed for people who have read "Overcoming Overeating" and/or "When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies" and are trying to implement the approach. Some people attend each session and others attend only when they have particular questions or feel in need of support.

All workshops will be held at:

350 W. 50th St. (8th/9th Ave.)

Carol Munter will be leading the following open-ended, drop-in workshops:

**SPECIAL OVERCOMING OVEREATING ADVANCED WORKSHOP**

TURNING TO YOURSELF INSTEAD OF FOOD

Led by Carol Munter and Robyn Posin (www.forthelittleonesinside.com)

LOCATION: Lexington Avenue and 30th St. in Manhattan

NOTE: In terms of hotels, Ramada East is on the corner. Check with them and with hotels.com, hotwire.com, expedia.com, etc. to see what is available. Gramercy area, Midtown or Chelsea would all work. If some of you from out of town are looking to share a room, let me know when you register and I'll be happy to give your name to anyone else who asks for a possible roommate.

This workshop is designed for those women who have been working with the approach outlined in the books OVERCOMING OVEREATING and WHEN WOMEN STOP HATING THEIR BODIES and want to look more deeply at the process of developing their ability to hold themselves through difficult moments without needing to reach for food.  In other words, we will focus on emotional hunger or mouth hunger and the development of the internal caretaker.

FEE:  BEFORE AUGUST 31ST, $360  AFTER AUGUST 31ST, $400

(Cancellations:  If you need to cancel and someone wants your spot, full refund.  If not, fee can be applied to a future workshop.)

THE CHICAGO CENTER

We're here to help you learn the Overcoming Overeating approach so that you can end the preoccupation with food and weight. Our services include individual counseling, ongoing groups and workshops. We also offer consultation to professionals, wellness programs for corporations and on-site workshops for businesses.

THE ATLANTA CENTER

The Introductory Group: meets weekly for ten sessions. It familiarizes participants with the O.O. concepts of self-care and self-acceptance. Members learn to eat in response to physical hunger. Feeling calmer, members deal more effectively with life's stresses.

The Advanced Group: meets weekly for twenty sessions. This group explores the connections between overeating, self-esteem and out-of-balance relationships. Members learn skills to develop satisfying relationships.

The Follow Up Group: meets monthly. It reinforces O.O. concepts and skills. Members are able to live life more fully, freed from preoccupation with body hatred and dieting.
